PAPR Backpack
Hands-Free Power and Comfort for First Receivers and
CBRN Evacuation Operations
The 3M Versaflo TR-927 PAPR Backpack is designed to support extended wear and mobility during hospital First Receiver operations and official evacuations away from CBRN hot zones or projected plume pathways. When responders, clinical staff, or evacuees must remain protected for hours—not minutes—this backpack configuration prioritizes comfort, balance, and freedom of movement without compromising respiratory protection.
Worn on the back rather than the waist, the Particle Respirator Backpack redistributes the weight of the PAPR blower and battery across the shoulders and upper torso. This reduces hip and lower back fatigue, a common issue during prolonged patient intake, triage, transport, and evacuation.
The backpack design also improves stability when bending, walking, climbing stairs, or assisting patients, making it well-suited for emergency departments, hospital corridors, loading areas, and controlled evacuation routes.
For First Receivers, keeping hands free is critical. The PAPR Backpack securely holds the PAPR blower, battery, and filter, allowing clinicians and support staff to focus on patient care, contamination control, and coordination with incident command.
For evacuees, the backpack provides a stable environment for about 8 hours of continuous PAPR respiratory protection while keeping hands free for the complex events during an official evacuation and extended sheltering.
Constructed for compatibility with the 3M Versaflo TR Series, the TR-927 integrates seamlessly with TR-300+, TR-600, and TR-800 PAPR systems.
Its streamlined black profile supports professional use in healthcare, industrial, and emergency response settings without drawing unnecessary attention during sensitive operations.
